• CARISSA PETERSON

    FUNDRAISING / POLICY and DEVELOPMENT

Carissa first learned of SoL Criations working for Easterseals Wisconsin at Camp Wawbeek where she got to know Brenda and Jon’s daughter, Tabbi.  She grew up on a dairy farm in Southwest Wisconsin, loving the animals and forest around her, and shared that love for the outdoors with many people over the years.

When Carissa left camp to work at UW-Milwaukee, she missed having a job that filled her soul as well as her career ambitions.  She stopped eating meat in 2022 for health reasons, but the more she learned about the food industry, she now does it for the animals and began to find her new passion.

When she saw that SoL was looking for someone to join their Board in April of 2025, she hoped that her non-profit, volunteer management, facility management, and grant writing experience would be helpful.  Carissa loves all the animals at SoL and those who care for them, and can’t wait to find more ways to be useful.
